Veeam is one of the leading backup and recovery companies on the market and has the next version of their Backup & Replication product launched this month. The launch will be live on Wednesday 24th February at 11 am E.T (4 pm GMT). To register for the event go to https://go.veeam.com/v11
Some of the new features include:
- Engine enhancements – Continuous Data Protection (CDP). CDP allows for backup without snapshots and as a result massively reducing RPO from minutes to seconds.
- UI enhancements – console filtering and backup job priority
- Enterprise manager – integration with VMware vCloud Director
- VCSPs (Veeam v11 integration with VMware vCloud Director)
- Ransomeware prevention – Linux hardened repository / Immutable primary backups
- More Linux support – Linux FLR without FLR appliance and Linux backup proxy Transport Modes. Moving toward Linux based proxies removes reliance on Windows proxies and associated MS licensing.
- Agent storage integration – improved physical backup performance
- NAS storage integration – supports backup of any file share, regardless of the operating system or file type.
- RESTful API for Veeam Backup & Replication
- PowerShell module – no need to use previous PowerShell snapin, Veeam have provided a number of modules for better support.
